I enjoy life today... and I feel like I am finally part of a normal society" I had been overweight all of my life, then as an older adult, I became morbidly obese. I had chronic fatigue, depression and chronic knee pain, which made getting around my house difficult. I could barely walk or clean my house. I was also eating very unhealthy foods. It was a vicious cycle and I did not know how or if I could ever stop it. I had never thought of having LAP-BAND surgery until I made an admission to myself - that I was headed for diabetes, heart disease and death if I didn't do something soon.

I had surgery March 2010 and I am very proud to say I have lost 111lbs so far and I am 40 lbs away from hitting my goal weight. I walk without pain, I have great energy, my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are normal and I have much less depression about life and I know I have a great future. I owe my new life to Dr. Jessee and her staff.
